About Chesapeake House
Jean grew up on the family farm in the Chestnut Hill area. Jean's seafood heritage goes back to another famous Murrells Inlet seafood restaurant, Lee's Inlet Kitchen. Here, Jean and Ed learned how to cook and serve seafood in the "Low Country” tradition made famous along the Carolina Coast. That tradition continues today at The Chesapeake House.

From the moment your server places a basket of hot hushpuppies and cinnamon rolls from the on-site bakery on your table, your mouth is in for a treat at the Chesapeake House. Try the famous fish stew or lobster pie as a warm-up to the main course, which includes fried seafood platters and fresh catch specials, including shrimp, scallops, lobster and grouper. The steamed crab legs are a hit, and the Chesapeake House has a nice selection of steaks and other “landfood” options to keep everyone in your party happy.
Many said it was a mistake to build that far outside of Myrtle Beach, but today there are 22 restaurants along what is now known as "Restaurant Row". Loaded with lump crab meat and just the right amount of seasoning. Expertly prepared with the option of having it grilled, broiled, fried or Cajun grilled. Tender Inlet shrimp fried crisp, served on a bed of lettuce and tossed in our sweet & spicy mayo.
Since then, the restaurant has been remodeled four times, has it's own in-house bakery, and now seats over 300.
